Suzanne Menendez-Herbst’s passion for real estate knows no bounds. First and foremost, she believes that real estate involves much more than selling houses—it requires being especially aware of and intimately familiar with the nuances of each community and what appeals to the people who live there, then using that expertise to match the unique needs of a client to the community they desire. Her passion extends to knowing that with dedication and perseverance, she can ensure a positive and successful transaction under any market condition. Suzanne’s passion continues to her peers as well, collaborating with her fellow agents to improve the profession while mentoring others along the way.
Today, with more than 24 years of experience selling homes and five years spent as the co-owner and managing broker of a successful Monterey real estate company, Suzanne is a broker with Coldwell Banker Realty in Carmel, California.
Suzanne enjoys a deep personal connection with the Monterey region that goes back three generations. She has lived there most of her life and was raised in Old Town Monterey, a quiet neighborhood that is still referred to Spaghetti Hill. Her intimate knowledge of the landscape, homes and communities, as well as what locals know as the magic of what many consider to be a coastal paradise, gives her clients the upper hand when buying or selling a home, vacation getaway or an investment property.
Suzanne attended UC Davis and San Jose State College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. She worked as an executive with Pacific Bell, which instilled in her an unparalleled amount of marketing and sales experience that she uses to this day when crafting a strategic and personalized plan for listing a home for sale.
Suzanne has held numerous leadership positions throughout her career in real estate.
Among them are Region Representative with the California Association of REALTORS® (CAR) Diversity Committee and Region Representative CAR’s Housing Affordability Committee. She has recently completed her two-year term as President of the Monterey County Association of REALTORS® (MCAR).
Suzanne is on the MCAR’s Board of Directors and its Professional Standards Committee, and she is a MCAR Certified Local Area Advisor and an Accredited Buyer’s Representative®. She is affiliated with the Monterey County Women's Council of REALTORS®. She also served for 15 years as a chairperson on the City of Monterey Parks & Recreation Commission and continues to be a member and corporate sponsor of The Monterey County Youth Museum. Suzanne has spent time volunteering with the Scholtz Park Senior Center and the Monterey High School PTA (President and Treasurer); she was also a chairperson on the Monterey High School Sober Graduation Committee and a member of the Friends of the Monterey Public Library Committee. She also served as a volunteer and founder of the San Carlos Church Youth Group.
